Heaving only a small water bottle, I did bring three additional 5 litre bottles and various smaller drinking bottles for walks etc and every single one of them was full to the brim&#8230; The longer I can stay in out-of-the-way places without having to look for water, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ve\u00f1uela and it&#8217;s lovely calm walks, turtles \ud83d\udc22 and once home for L\u00e4kie was next. We didn&#8217;t see any turtles and no L\u00e4kie either. The sanctuary woman I&#8217;d been speaking to did promise to collect her and I&#8217;m glad she&#8217;s being looked after and finding a new home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We also spotted ducklings! \ud83e\udd86\ud83e\udd86\ud83e\udd86\ud83e\udd86\ud83e\udd86\ud83e\udd86<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"720\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 1280 \/ 720;\" width=\"1280\" controls src=\"https:\/\/oneblacktoe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/VID20260425162210.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Enough said&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Bermejales was next. I really like this one. There are so many really big fish swimming close to the shore that they get themselves caught up slightly in the tree tops of flooded trees and flap around letting Tippi know there&#8217;s something interesting in the water, like she needs any more encouragement to go in and investigate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1280\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 720 \/ 1280;\" width=\"720\" controls src=\"https:\/\/oneblacktoe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/VID20260429110055.mp4\"><\/video><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Didn&#8217;t realise I had a water dog \ud83d\udc15<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Actually, water has always been Tippi&#8217;s kryptonite. She&#8217;s a wee bit deef when it comes to water, and if not deef, very persistent to get back into it. Or stay in it, if possible. It might be a little weighted on the side of <em>&#8220;I gotta cool down!&#8221;<\/em> here in Spain, but she&#8217;s always been this way with water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We then chose to go to the next lake in our way, on our way back to \u00cctrabo. That&#8217;s the lake in B\u00e9znar. Lovely lake too, just a bit more population around to spoil our Chi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-video\"><video height=\"1280\" style=\"aspect-ratio: 720 \/ 1280;\" width=\"720\" controls going on for another three days, I think, so maybe I&#8217;ll stay where I am for a bit longer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had a great walk around (bits of) the B\u00e9znar lake and the people were still singing when we got back. Good for them. One quite nice thing was I got to do some dog training with a Dutch campervan&#8217;r and her two rescues.
